Senior Demand Planner (m/f/d) – Munich
Salary range: €81,000 – €85,000 gross per year + benefits
A fast-growing, international e-commerce company is looking for a Senior Demand Planner to play a key role in shaping and executing its demand planning strategy across a diverse SKU portfolio.
This is a permanent, Munich-based position with strong cross-functional exposure and a direct impact on forecast accuracy, inventory optimisation, and revenue performance. You will take ownership of data-driven forecasting processes and work closely with commercial and operational stakeholders to align demand forecasts with business strategy.
What you’ll do
* Lead and own the demand forecasting process for an assigned portion of the SKU portfolio, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives
* Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations by integrating market intelligence, demand drivers, and promotional strategies into forecasts
* Monitor and optimise forecast accuracy KPIs (MAPE, Bias, Rolling Forecast Error), performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable, structural improvements
* Evaluate and refine demand forecasts for seasonal events, promotions, and market shifts, ensuring alignment with revenue targets, marketing plans, and customer demand patterns
* Champion process innovation through automation, analytical enhancements, and workflow improvements to increase forecasting precision and efficiency
* Mentor and support demand planning colleagues, building expertise in advanced forecasting techniques and effective cross-functional collaboration
What you bring
* A degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
* 6+ years of experience in demand planning or supply chain analytics within complex, multi-SKU and multi-region environments
* Advanced knowledge of statistical and machine learning forecasting methods (e.g. time-series modelling, multivariate regression), with strong command of KPIs such as MAPE and forecast bias
* Proven ability to design, implement, and continuously improve forecasting models and demand planning processes
* Strong Excel and SQL skills, with solid experience using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create executive-level dashboards
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor team members in a cross-functional environment
* Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
