Compliance Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager to join our team in Berlin. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on regulatory compliance, supporting the Compliance Officer with reporting and monitoring activities, and reviewing and advising on various aspects of ECB compliance.

* Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert legal advice on German law and regulations related to financial services, including MaRisk, German Banking Act, and EBA Guidelines;
* Support the Compliance Officer with reporting and monitoring activities, ensuring that all relevant regulatory requirements are met;
* Review and advise on the establishment of required infrastructure for ECB compliance, as well as identify and mitigate any potential risks;
* Analyse and advise business areas on all relevant German/EU regulatory matters, ensuring that all applicable laws and regulations are complied with;
* Liaise with external consultants and experts to ensure that the Bank remains up-to-date with the latest regulatory developments;
* Advise the business on legal matters related to banking supervisory law, ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Strong understanding of German and EU financial regulations and laws;
* Several years of relevant experience in in-house legal or compliance roles within the banking sector;
* Proven ability to assimilate complex information and support decision-making within the business;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
* Ability to interpret and unravel complex cases and provide solutions to improve relations/processes.
