Job Description
The Legal Counsel provides legal advice and support to Experian in all legal matters. You will work with multiple departments and external advisors to ensure that Experian operates in compliance with national and international laws. We ask that you are in-depth knowledge of international business law, contract law, data protection law and. You will report to the Legal and Compliance Director in DACH.
Main responsibilities:
1. Legal advice: Support the management and specialist departments on all legal issues, in contract law, commercial law and data protection law
2. Contract management: Review and negotiate national and international contracts, including supply, distribution, service and license agreements
3. Risk assessment: Assess legal risks and developing strategies to minimize risks
4. Dispute Resolution: Support the handling and resolution of legal disputes, including coordinating outside counsel and representing us in legal proceedings
5. Data protection: Advice and support in data protection, in particular with regard to compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations
6. Legal training: Conduct internal training on legal topics to promote awareness of legal risks and best practices within the company
7. International cooperation: Coordination and cooperation with the international subsidiaries and sister companies to provide a uniform legal strategy
Qualifications
8. Completed university degree in law (state examination) and a license as a qualified lawyer, additional qualifications in international business law are an advantage
9. Several years of professional experience in a comparable position, in an international company or a renowned law firm.
10. 1+ years of experience working with multinational teams and advising senior executives
11. Initial years of general legal experience plus relevant expertise in supporting GTM functions
12. Sound knowledge of German and international commercial law, including contract law, data protection law and compliance
13. Fluency in written and spoken German and English is mandatory; other language skills are an advantage
