Your tasks
* Development of new titles with a focus on art history
* Independent and timely project management for multilingual book publications, from budgeting and scheduling to printing
* Close collaboration with authors, translators, freelancers, and editors from Germany and abroad, as well as international institutions and image agencies
* Handling image, text, artist, and photographer rights, including image procurement
* Proofreading and editing of texts
* Internal coordination with the graphics, production, press, and sales departments
* Supporting the editorial director in projects and tasks
Your profile
* Several years of professional experience as an editor in the field of art history, particularly for illustrated books
* Completed Master’s degree in Art History or a comparable humanities discipline
* Excellent communication skills in German and English; additional language skills are an advantage
* In-depth expertise in clarifying text and image rights as well as copyright law
* Strong affinity for text and confident stylistic sense in editorial work
* Pronounced visual understanding of image and text composition
* Broad international network in publishing and the art sector
* Negotiation skills and confident demeanor
* Flexibility, resilience, and solution-oriented teamwork
* International experience and intercultural competence
* Very good knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign
