The Strategy, Regulatory Affairs & Business Transformation Director holds global accountability for development of the RWE Offshore wind strategy. Furthermore, you will provide market, regulatory and competitive intelligence to the Board and senior management team and set political and regulatory priorities related to the Offshore business and execute advocacy activities in close alignment within RWE Group. Moreover, you will support business development and strategic initiatives and hold accountability for building the capabilities of the organization through mindsets and ways of working. You will ensure high quality performance management, problem-solving and continuous process improvement by managing process excellence and transformation projects. You will also oversee the development of the digital strategy and roadmap for the offshore business. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and delivering the sustainability strategy throughout the Offshore Business in line the RWE Group Sustainability agenda.



About the role



* Conducting insightful strategic analyses with the aim to formulate the strategic direction comprising technology, market, and business model scope as well as mid- and long-term business targets for the Offshore business
* Delivering special projects related to our strategic priorities
* Gathering business intelligence across all relevant markets, value chain steps, and competitors
* Shaping the regulatory agenda, defining priorities and positions, and aligning external positions within the RWE Group
* Following regulatory and legislative developments and delivering assessments of implications for the Offshore wind business; Acting as host unit for regulatory teams in Europe and APAC for the Onshore wind, PV and Battery Storage technologies to align regulatory positions across RES technologies
* Executing advocacy discussions and trends, incl. representation in national / regional / local associations to promote RWE’s positions
* Implementing RWE Offshore’s cultural priorities and change initiatives, providing support to all departments in identifying and realizing process excellence and performance analysis
* Supporting the Offshore Leadership Team within their learning and change journey
* Developing the digital strategy and roadmap, prioritizing digital initiatives to maximize business impact
* Delivering the sustainability agenda in Offshore Wind by shaping specific mid- to long-term ambitions and targets, maintaining and monitoring the implementation roadmap, incl. prioritizing sustainability projects and pilots and delivery of selected initiatives
* Coordinating the sustainability reporting



Job requirements and experience



* Msc. in politics, economics, engineering, natural sciences or law, with focus on strategy and/or energy markets and regulatory topics
* Extensive professional experience is required, e.g. at external advisors or (strategy) consultancies, developers, and/or local and national government departments and agencies
* Thorough understanding of the renewables business and its drivers and trends across markets and technologies
* Well-developed critical thinking skills complemented by strategic planning
* A forward-thinking approach to innovation
* Experience in the political / regulatory sphere across different markets
* Open mindset: Self-reflective personality, able to learn and act on feedback
* Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
* Languages: English, additional European languages
