The maritime sector is a critical component of modern societies, providing essential services such as clean electricity from offshore wind farms, natural gas delivery via LNG terminals and underwater pipelines, and global internet connectivity through undersea data cables.
However, these infrastructures are increasingly vulnerable to accidents, disasters, and hybrid attacks, including the cutting of data and electricity cables or the attack on the Nord Stream Pipeline in 2021.
The DLR Institute for Maritime Security Research and Technology Development Organisation is dedicated to protecting maritime socio-technical infrastructures and their operations, increasing their resilience against threats like drones and vessels.
We are seeking motivated and dedicated candidates to support the development of methods to assess security systems in the maritime domain. This exciting position involves actively participating in pioneering research projects on surface and underwater security, contributing significantly to strengthening the security of maritime infrastructures.
