NoOffer DescriptionThe Cluster of Excellence “Quantum Universe” performs research to understand mass and gravity at the interface between quantum physics and cosmology. The research team includes leading scientists from mathematics, particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology at the University of Hamburg and DESY.Over the next months we are looking for up to 30 outstanding doctoral researchers with excellent degrees and scientific track records in the following research areas:Higgs physicsDark Matter and AxionsGravitational WavesStructures, Methods, Advanced Research Technologies (SMART), which pursues research into Algebraic and Geometric Structures, Artificial Intelligence, as well as Detectors, Quantum Sensors and AcceleratorsThe term of doctoral contracts is typically limited to three years. The salaries are internationally competitive and are typically 66.7% E13 for doctoral positions, where E13 is the German public service salary scale.Successful candidates will join an inspiring worldclass environment for research and education. They will become members of the Quantum Universe Research School (QURS), which provides academic and key skills training, as well as career planning support. In addition, they will receive individual budgets to facilitate the attendance of summer schools and conferences, and to support other educational measures.
