This isn’t just another IT configuration job — it’s a strategic consulting role that demands deep process understanding, cross-functional thinking, and the ability to engage with engineering and business stakeholders alike.
You understand the full product lifecycle — from ideation to end-of-life — and can model complex processes that govern engineering and manufacturing data. You know how to translate business needs into PLM best practices, and you’ve helped shape or support topics such as:
* Engineering BOM vs Manufacturing BOM
* Variant & Configuration Management
* Engineering Change & Release Management (ECR/ECO)
* Document Control & CAD Integration
* Traceability & Governance of Product Data
Your experience may come from roles like: PLM Process Owner, Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or PLM Key User.
You’ve worked hands-on (beyond user level) with at least one major PLM platform:
* PTC Windchill (machinery, automotive)
* Siemens Teamcenter (aerospace, heavy industry)
* Dassault ENOVIA / 3DEXPERIENCE (with CATIA integration)
* SAP PLM (especially interfacing with SAP ERP)
Our client particularly values adjacent skills that bring additional depth to the role:
* Requirements Engineering
* Product Configuration Management
* Design-to-Cost / Target Costing
* CAD/CAE process integration
* Systems Thinking & V-Model familiarity

* Engineering background with real product development exposure
* Structured, analytical thinking — able to break down complex workflows
* Confident communicator across engineering, IT, and management
* Fluent English (German B2+ highly preferred)
* Willingness to travel 1–2 days per week for client workshops (DACH region)
