The Role We are looking for a Category Director – Premium Beauty to lead the commercial and operational strategy for our Beauty product offering (cosmetics, skincare, fragrances, etc.) in the German market. You will own the full P&L, assortment strategy, and customer experience for your category. This is a unique opportunity to help build a major e-commerce player in an agile, entrepreneurial environment. Your Responsibilities Lead the strategy for the Beauty category (skincare, cosmetics, fragrances) in line with JD.com’s global vision and objectives Manage and develop a team of Category Managers and Assistants, supporting their growth and performance Drive sales, margin, and profitability (GMV, GPM) by optimizing product assortment, pricing, and promotional mechanics Plan and execute high-performing commercial campaigns in coordination with marketing teams and suppliers Analyze sales, inventory, availability, and customer behavior data to identify growth opportunities Build scalable and effective processes in a fast-changing environment with limited initial resources Propose and implement innovative, differentiating ideas to grow the category in line with French consumer expectations Actively contribute to cross-functional collaboration with both local and international teams to ensure smooth execution and strategic alignment What We’re Looking For 10 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, mass distribution or e-with a strong focus on premium beauty products Excellent knowledge of the German market: distribution channels, key players, and consumer trends Proven ability to negotiate high-value agreements while building strong, long-term supplier partnerships Entrepreneurial mindset and high autonomy: you enjoy building from scratch, structuring processes, testing and iterating Strong analytical mindset: you know how to turn insights into concrete business decisions Results-driven and performance-oriented, with a collaborative spirit and experience working in cross-functional teams Natural leadership and outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring teams and rallying stakeholders around an ambitious vision In addition to German language, fluent English, both spoken and written, is essential in this international environment What We Offer: The exciting opportunity to shape category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.
