Professor/Discipline Lead of Nursing (Teaching & Research) – UNSW Medicine & Health, based in Australia.
Position Details
* Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours a week)
* Duration: Continuing professorial appointment; Discipline lead to initial 3-year term
* Remuneration: $237,784 base, plus Discipline lead allowance (plus 17% Super, Leave Loading)
* Location: Health Translation Hub, UNSW Kensington, Sydney
UNSW Medicine & Health is an international leader in learning, teaching and research, co-located with several of Australia’s hospitals, medical research institutes and health care organisations. The School of Population Health (SPH) delivers high-quality education and research across public and global health, with a focus on equity, diversity and social justice. The School is co-located in the Randwick Precinct’s Health Translation Hub, working with key research groups and centres.
Role Purpose
This position will play a key role in the School, leading and advancing outstanding nursing education and research at national and international levels. As Professor and Discipline Lead, Nursing, you will lead the development, delivery and enhancement of high-quality nursing education for the Faculty, foster strong research partnerships, and advance UNSW’s reputation through interdisciplinary research in health systems and nursing, aligning with national priorities, workforce needs, and UNSW’s Progress for All strategy. The position reports to the Head of School, Population Health.
Responsibilities
* Lead development, delivery and enhancement of high-quality nursing education for the Faculty.
* Foster strong research partnerships and advance interdisciplinary research in health systems and nursing.
* Align activities with national priorities, workforce needs, and UNSW’s Progress for All strategy.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement innovative teaching and learning strategies.
Qualifications And Experience
* A PhD in Nursing or related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Evidence of academic excellence in nursing education and research, with a national/international profile.
* Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
* Experience with curriculum accreditation and alignment with NMBA and TEQSA standards.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
* Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
* Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
