Task Description
* Ensure financial services product operations (payment, lending, insurance, savings, investments … beyond existing transaction mgmt.) comply with all relevant EU and local financial regulations, including AML, KYC, PSD2, GDPR, Open banking/Fida, and banking supervisory requirements
* Monitor regulatory developments across European markets and advise top management on implication impacts and required compliance adjustments
* Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls tailored to digital banking operations
* Conduct regular compliance audits, risk assessments, and reporting to regulators and senior management
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, product, operations) to integrate compliance requirements into new services and features
* Act as point of contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors (e.g., EZB, EBA, BaFin)
Requirements
* University degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or related field; additional compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, ACAMS) are a plus
* >5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs, ideally within fintech, banking, or financial services
* Deep knowledge of European regulatory frameworks (AML/KYC, PSD2, MiCA, GDPR, Fida, Open banking, EBA guidelines)
* Strong analytical skills and ability to translate regulations into practical/ pragmatic policies and processes for setting up financial services biz
* Familiarity with compliance technology tools (RegTech, monitoring systems, reporting tools) a plus
* Proven experience in handling all relevant regulatory authorities (e.g., EZB, EBA, BaFin)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English (other European languages an advantage)
* High degree of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced digital environment
