Location/Division Specific Information
We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen currently, with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the top tier products globally in their respective markets.
To strengthen our agile life science team, we are looking for a motivated student worker to collaborate with our research and development scientists. Your tasks and responsibilities will be diverse and exciting, with the opportunity to participate in product development projects in a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team:
A day in the Life:
1. Supporting our scientists to complete experiments in the laboratory
2. Working in a team together with engineering to build prototypes
3. Testing new devices (electronics, mechanics and ion optics)
4. Handling vacuum equipment like fore vacuum pumps and turbo molecular pumps
5. Supporting by testing instruments according to the test protocols
6. Conducting data evaluation tasks by using a programming language
7. Developing instrument control software procedures to support research and production
Keys to Success:
Education
8. Student in physics, engineering, chemistry or related science, or equivalent education
Experience
9. A hands-on student who loves precision mechanics and sophisticated electronics
10. Enthusiastic about technology and science
11. Experience in writing programs for instrument control applications and data analysis using Python or other programming language
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
12. Good communication and teamwork skills in an international environment
13. Language skills in English and German
