As a member of the R&D team, you are recognized internally as the operational expert in key process unit operations. The overall objective for this position is to support the Local Jewels team to drive the Process Cheese productivity pipeline, streamlining portfolio complexity & efficiency at the Namur plant as well as commercial impact for Kitchen initiatives.
How you will contribute
With the support and guidance of your manager you will scope ideas, do planning, and executing bench-top and pilot plant / plant-scale trials to ensure new prototypes consistently match the standard product (functionality, taste, appearance etc).
You will be responsible for conducting of shelf-life testing and supporting your peers with application tests. Good analytical and writing skills are important in this role because you will create technical reports that require the analysis and interpretation of results leading to conclusions and recommendations. In addition, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining excellently written and accurate process specifications.
What you will bring

1. Process development ideally with experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment (preferably with Dairy background)
2. Working with teams and independently with the guidance of more senior team members
3. Proactively identifying problems and assisting in creating and implementing solutions
4. Applying fundamental technical understanding of equipment and ingredients
5. Ability to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions
6. Labs/plant equipment operation/maintenance experience is a distinct advantage
7. Consumer-centric mindset
8. Technical rigor, curiosity and collaboration
9. Education: minimum High School degree, preferably Bachelor/Master degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical/Food Engineering related discipline
10. Language skills: English is essential, German is a plus
Working Requirements / On-site Presence: To ensure a comprehensive and effective onboarding process, as well as efficient implementation of projects, physical presence at the R&D office facility in Munich is required in accordance with the current employment agreement.
Travel requirements: 20 - 50%
The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland.
