We are adding a Junior Data Quality Analyst to our team to help us clean, structure, and verify records for one of our biggest client projects. Our client is a major retail distributor, and we are helping them move their entire inventory and operations database onto a modern custom-built system. Because this is a hybrid role, you will split your time between working from home and collaborating with us in person to keep the project moving smoothly.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another.
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a team of experienced developers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends. When something breaks, we are the ones who answer the phone and fix it.
In this role
You will focus on the fundamental work of data quality. When our client is a major distributor moving millions of rows of data, things get messy quickly. You will be checking datasets for errors, finding missing fields, and helping move data between old legacy databases and our clean new PostgreSQL tables.
This is a full-time, permanent position that offers attractive and competitive pay for an entry-level analyst. Your day-to-day work will involve running validation queries, comparing dataset exports, and flagging anomalies before they reach production. You will work closely with our developers to understand how the target database is structured and ensure our migration scripts are working perfectly.
What you bring
We are looking for someone who actually enjoys organizing messy information. You do not need to be a veteran programmer, but you should have a solid foundation and a lot of curiosity. Here is what we need:
* A basic understanding of SQL. You should know how to write simple SELECT queries, filter data, and join tables.
* A strong eye for detail. You are the kind of person who notices when a single postal code is formatted incorrectly or when a column has inconsistent date formats.
* An organized approach to problem-solving. When you find an issue, you can write down the exact steps to reproduce it so the developers can fix it.
* An appreciation for practical, unglamorous work. We do not build flashy social networks, we make sure warehouse systems run smoothly.
Helpful background
Anything on this list is a bonus. We do not expect you to know all of this on day one:
* Experience using PostgreSQL or another relational database.
* Familiarity with basic Node script writing or Python for data manipulation.
* Basic knowledge of GitHub and how development teams track code changes.
* Any prior experience cleaning Excel sheets or working with messy CSV files.
Working at Pixel Systems
We are a small, focused team. There are no layers of middle management here, and we do not spend our days in endless meetings. Our hybrid setup allows you to balance the quiet focus of home working with the fast feedback of working side by side on our collaborative office days.
The work we do has a direct, visible impact. When we solve a data problem, it means a local shipping team can do their jobs without their systems crashing. We value honesty, steady progress, and keeping our promises to our clients.
If you prefer building real things over chasing tech trends, we think you would fit right in. We keep our hiring process simple and respectful of your time, focusing on your actual skills and your capability to learn.
