Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with an engineering service provider to support their search for a Piping Designer to join their clients project based in the Rhineland-Palatinate region on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret and review vendor drawings and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
* Generate isometric drawings and equipment layouts based on process documentation and vendor data.
* Develop detailed 3D models of piping systems, equipment, and supports.
* Conduct site surveys and system walkdowns to produce sketch isometrics.
* Perform clash detection and resolve piping interferences.
* Prepare material take-offs for procurement and construction planning.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.
Required Experience & Skills
* Sufficient years of piping design experience, ideally within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated process environments.
* Strong proficiency in 3D design tools such as Plant 3D, Navisworks, CADWorx, Revit, and ACC.
* Familiarity with cleanroom piping design, specifications, and construction standards.
* Solid understanding of current piping codes and industry standards.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced project environment.
* Fluent in both German and English (written and verbal).
* High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
* Relevant qualification in piping or mechanical engineering preferred.
