To support the central IT department of our institute, we are looking for a
Network Administrator (m/f/d)
Full-time, permanent
Your tasks
1. Procurement, installation and maintenance of modern network hardware and infrastructure (Cisco, Aruba, Dell)
2. Implementation of measures such as VLAN segmentation, port security, MAC filtering
3. Configuring firewalls (e.g. with rules for network segmentation, access controls, DMZ management and NAT)
4. Setting up and managing network access (NAC, 802.1X, RADIUS)
5. Provision and management of secure Wi-Fi access for employees, guests, and researchers
6. Documentation of system adjustments and changes
7. Taking on operational tasks such as monitoring, performance analysis and troubleshooting
Your profile
8. Confident handling of the above tasks
9. Completed degree/vocational training in a relevant field or at least four years of comparable professional experience in network administration
10. Good knowledge of Linux and practical experience in Linux server administration
11. Good knowledge of at least one scripting language and network switch CLI configuration
12. Willingness to learn, solution- and service-oriented, independent working style & ability to work in a team
13. Interest in and understanding of the scientific working environment
14. Very good communication skills and good written and spoken German and English
15. Knowledge of VMware/Proxmox, LDAP, git, Python, Ansible, Confluence or Jira is an advantage
