As (Senior) Software Test Engineer (m/f/d) at Sentronics Metrology (a Nova Company) you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance and robustness of our software stack. You'll collaborate closely with software developers and system engineers to define and drive test activities across multiple layers: from automated unit and integration testing to hands‑on validation on the actual optical measurement equipment.

Role Responsibilities:
Designing, developing, and maintaining test concepts and processes for automated and manual test solutions
Executing system level and integration tests on complete optical metrology systems in a lab environment
Developing and running tests across multiple layers, including application logic, device communication, data processing, and user interfaces
Defining test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and upcoming software or system releases
Analyzing, diagnosing, and performing root cause investigation in environments where software, hardware, and firmware interact – cause investigation
Working closely with Software, Hardware, and cross functional R&D teams to enhance testability, integration workflows, and overall system quality
Driving the adoption of best practices in test engineering, software validation, and system-level quality assurance
Contributing to the development of a scalable, robust, and future ready test infrastructure for complex mechatronic and optoelectronic systems
Requirements:
Strong academic background with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
Experience in test engineering, ideally with a focus on automated software testing
Solid understanding of complex systems involving software, hardware, firmware, and device interfaces
Hands-on experience validating integrated systems and real hardware
Structured, analytical, and quality driven working style with strong root cause analysis capability-driven working style with strong cause analysis
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary R&D teams
Excellent communication skills in English and German
