To strengthen our team at Dornier Suntrace GmbH in Hamburg, we are looking for qualified Interns/Working Students (m/f/d) Electrical Engineering Support What you can achieve with us: You help to accelerate the energy transition by providing technical advisory to institutions, project developers, and utilities – from feasibility studies to project development, execution, operation, and beyond You develop large-scale renewable power systems worldwide, including reviewing technologies, assessing energy yields, optimizing system designs, handling permitting and regulatory analysis, conducting financial evaluations, and supporting project management You develop specialized simulation tools i.e., to evaluate new renewable hybrid power plants and other special applications You research new renewable power applications, evaluate business opportunities, and help enforce their implementation You support the realization of hybrid renewable energy projects that aim to decarbonize high-energy demand industries You optimize renewable generation and storage capacities, create technical drawings of plant layouts, and define technical specifications for projects What convinces us: You are enrolled in a Master's degree program related to renewable energy technologies, e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, or similar fields You have a strong interest in and good understanding of renewable energy solutions and their applications in various market environments You bring a solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, with hands-on or academic experience in PV electrical systems — including string sizing, inverter selection, cable dimensioning, protection and grounding design, as well as interconnection of PV systems with medium- and high-voltage grids Familiarity with grid studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination analysis using tools like DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP knowledge of transmission line behaviour, grid codes, and interconnection requirements at MV and HV levels is a strong advantage You are proficient in CAD design (AutoCAD, Auto CAD Electrical, EPLAN, PVcase, etc.) and would like to support the planning of PV systems You are interested in modelling renewable energy systems and have some basic knowledge in conducting simulations (e.g., with PVSyst) You are fluent in English (spoken and written), fluent skills in German (speaking and writing) are beneficial You have a careful and independent working style, as well as analytical and conceptual thinking skills What we have to offer: We offer a flexible and inspiring working environment in our international Hamburg team, combining a wide variety of expertise, experience, and intercultural backgrounds A working environment that enthusiastically embraces and promotes innovative ideas and sustainable approaches Support for your individual development through the opportunity to take on responsibility, to contribute your skills and to develop them further A company group with flat hierarchies and communication at eye level Regular company get-togethers and afterwork events Your contact person As a modern group of companies, we value diversity and welcome applicants (m/f/d) regardless of age, gender, sexual identity, physical or mental abilities, cultural, social or ethnic background, religion or ideology.
