0593 POSTDOCTORAL CANDIDATE (F/M/D) Redox-Proteomics

We are seeking to hire a proactive and highly motivated post-doc to join our ERC-Project PRIME. Employment is intended to start on February 1, 2026 at the Greifswald site.

Redox-Proteomics

* (initially) limited to 45 months

* Weekly working time 40 hours

* Remuneration according to TV-L remuneration group 13 (gross salary range depending on professional experience, see remuneration table 2025)

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Identify oxidative changes in proteins and correlate them with biological/immunological cellular responses;
* Measure oxidized proteins using mass spectrometry and evaluate, map, and categorize posttranslational modifications;
* Investigation of various oxidants and cold plasmas and their influence on proteins and their immunogenicity;
* Develop analysis strategies for large data sets and correlation matrix using programming languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.);
* Scientific supervision of undergraduate and doctoral students;
* Exchange and discussion of results within in the team;
* Analyze, interpret and present collected data and prepare scientific publications and third-party funding applications.

YOUR PROFILE:

* PhD in biology, (bio)chemistry, bioinformatics or a related field
* High affinity to data and large-data-driven science, as well as strong logical understanding
* Knowledge of statistical analysis and programming languages

* Strong interest in interdisciplinary research into protein mechanisms of action
* Flexibility in scientific activities in the laboratory and office
* Problem-solving skills in decoding relations between bioinformatic, biochemical, and biological data sets
* High degree of commitment, motivation, independent work, teamwork skills, sense of responsibility and reliability
* Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) and preferably also German
