To strengthen our global engineering capabilities, we are looking for a Group Senior Process Engineer who will play a key role in major international investment projects and help shape the future of our pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of process systems and equipment. You will contribute to large-scale CAPEX projects, including greenfield plant developments, ensuring best-in-class engineering solutions that align with Octapharma’s group strategy.
The position will be filled in Vienna (Austria), Springe (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden) or Lingolsheim (France).

Your main tasks and responsibilities
1. Design and develop process units and systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a strong focus on greenfield projects
2. Perform engineering calculations (e.g. fluid dynamics, thermodynamics)
3. Specify and dimension equipment in compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements
4. Develop automation strategies and coordinate interfaces with automation, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
5. Create and review technical documentation for procurement, commissioning, and qualification (QPL, DQ, IQ, OQ)
6. Evaluate technical and commercial solutions, support cost estimates, and contribute to investment proposals and business cases
7. Drive standardisation, best practices, and the implementation of new technologies across the group
Your expertise and ideal skill set
8. Degree in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Pharmaceutical Engineering (or equivalent technical education)
9. Minimum 10 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, familiarity in GMP / GAMP enviorment
10. Proven experience in the design and implementation of process equipment and systems
11. Strong understanding of mathematics, science, physics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
12. High proficiency in MS Office and CAD applications (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar)
13. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on mindset and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in international, cross-functional teams
14. Willingness to travel up to 30 %

15. The Group Technical Organization consists of Group Engineering, Automation, and Maintenance. We are represented at all production sites in Europe.
16. You will work in a multinational organization supporting all production sites from a technical perspective.
17. The Engineering department mainly works on project development in the early phases of strategic projects.

Additional information (Austria only):
The minimum gross salary according to the collective agreement (chemical industry) is EUR 4,270.14 based on 38 hours per week (full-time). As we strive to offer a salary that reflects your individual profile and qualifications, there is a willingness to pay above the minimum salary.
