Embedded Software & HDL Developer – SDR / Wireless Systems (m/f/d)
About Us
At
N.A.T. GmbH
, we bring
Innovation in communication
to life — developing SDR and embedded systems that power 5G/6G networks and mission-critical defense applications.
We are an efficient and highly focused
engineering team
based out of Bonn, Germany, working at the forefront of telecommunication technologies. Our projects span from
next-generation 5G/6G ORAN platforms
to
mission-critical defense applications such as drone-defense systems
.
Due to our expertise, we collaborate with
leading international research institutes
and
major industry partners
worldwide. What makes our work special is its
real-world impact:
we deliver technology that helps shape the future of communications.
From the very beginning in 1990, we've not only grown leading expertise and knowledge but also believe in building long lasting relationships with both our customers and our team. Many of our colleagues have been with us for years because we value expertise, curiosity, and an environment people enjoy working in.
Your Role
You'll join our SDR development team, working at the intersection of FPGA/HDL design
and
embedded C software
. You'll help design, integrate, and optimize systems that power tomorrow's communication networks.
Your responsibilities include:
* Developing and optimizing
HDL (VHDL/SystemVerilog/Verilog)
for FPGA-based SDR platforms.
* Writing
embedded C software
for ARM/SoC environments.
* Integrating FPGA logic with embedded software stacks for real-time systems.
* Participating in debugging, performance tuning, and design reviews.
What You Bring
* Experience with
HDL development
(VHDL/SystemVerilog/Verilog).
* Solid
C programming skills
for embedded platforms (SoC/ARM).
* Interest in or experience with
wireless communications and SDR
.
Bonus Points:
* Familiarity with
Linux embedded development
(PetaLinux, Yocto).
* Knowledge of
signal processing, phased arrays, or real-time data systems
.
* Experience with high-speed I/O standards (JESD204, PCIe, Ethernet).
* Experience with telecom standards such as
ORAN or (e)CPRI
.
* Experience with CI/CD.
* Scripting skills in
Python, TCL
or similar.
Why Join N.A.T.?
* Be part of a
tight-knit team
where your contributions are visible and valued.
* Work on
cutting-edge
programs with
real-world impact
, in partnership with global research institutes and industry leaders.
* Long-term employee engagement matters to us
: we invest in people and foster an environment where you can grow your career and want to stay.
* Flat hierarchies and short decision paths: less administration, more innovation.
* The chance to work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies such as
FPGAs, SDR platforms, and high-speed telecom systems
.
If you're excited about shaping the future of communications in a hands-on, collaborative environment — we'd love to hear from you.
