About the Role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving and developing sales activities within the assigned region and for the LINK products and services portfolio under his responsibility.
He actively identifies, acquires, and develops new customers in line with LINK's strategic objectives, while also expanding business opportunities within the existing customer base.
The role involves frequent and direct engagement with customers to identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, managing the full sales cycle from initial contact through proposal development and final closure, always in the best interest of LINK.
The Business Development Manager works closely with Internal Sales and the Proposal Engineering team to ensure the preparation of commercially competitive and technically accurate proposals that effectively address customer requirements.
Responsabilities
• Seek and add new customers.
• Find new growth opportunities within existing assigned customer(s).
• Lead the quoting process.
• Find, enter, qualify and pursue opportunities in LINK's best interest throughout the proposal stages up to closure.
• Deliver meaningful proposals as a response to customers inquiry in a timely manner
• Grow and accurately maintain his pipeline (deals stages, closed dates, magnitudes)
• Communicating with customers to gain feedback on quotations. Communicate clearly and confidently with customers
• Give meaningful technical and commercial feedback on proposals to enable the company to react to obstacles
• Grow LINK's revenue and market share
• Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and applications
• Following and achieving deadlines for the submission of quotations
• Maintain accurate records of target accounts, deals, opportunity stages, close dates and magnitudes, contacts and correspondence in LINK's CRM
• Support activities around business development, marketing and exhibitions
• Drive time and quality proposals and help implementing sales improvements
Skills
• Technical background (mechanical and/or electrical engineer, master, bachelor, technician or comparable)
• Preferred work experience in test equipment manufacturing
• Business fluent English and German
• Skilled with PC / MS Office
• Analytical, observant, patient and communicative to handle the precise nature of the work
• Social and pragmatic character preferably due to need to interact with others, externally and internally
• Readiness to travel within Germany & Europe as required by customers
• Valid driver's license
• Willing to work overtime as required by customers / the company
