We are currently looking for a qualified
English-speaking early childhood education professional (d/f/m)
for a minimum of 30 hours per week on an open-ended contract
to help implement the Fröbel Focus “Bilingual Education” in the foundation stage at our education and care service Fröbelspatzen in Berlin-Friedrichshain (Germany).
The current team consists of 36 teachers and educators, two of them English-speaking, who are looking after 230 children from 1 year to 6 years of age. One of the focus areas at the centre is the "Little Scientists" programme, focusing on the development of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills in the children. The large garden surrounding the centre offers plenty of opportunity for exploration. The centre is easily accessible by public transport and has its own kitchen, where the chef prepares balanced and varied meals for the children on a daily basis

Your responsibilities would include:
* Supporting all aspects of early childhood education and care in English,
* Planning, implementing and documenting pedagogical processes and daily routines (as part of a team),
* Completing (or supporting, according to experience and qualification) structured observation and documentation of the children’s development and educational processes,
* Developing successful cooperations with parents.
Do you fulfil the following requirements?
* Are you in the process of learning German? Proven German language skills on level B1 are a requirement for this position.
* Do you posess English language skills on a Native Speaker level?
* Would you like to learn more about education policies in Germany and how these are being implemented in practice?
* Do you believe that children should have opportunities to encounter foreign languages at an early age and that they should define their own learning experience?
* Are you interested in working as part of a team to design and implement an in-house bilingual education concept?
