As the Senior Director of Professional Education, EMEA , you will lead the execution of Olympus’ Professional Education strategy across EMEA, driving impactful learning experiences that empower healthcare professionals through world‑class procedural training and education on the safe and effective use of Olympus technologies and solutions. As a key member of the extended global Medical & Scientific Affairs leadership team , you will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Medical & Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Medical Affairs, GIS and SIS Business Units, regional commercial organizations, and external healthcare experts to define the future of professional education within Olympus.

Your responsibilities

Lead and execute the EMEA Professional Education strategy aligned with the global Medical Strategy and regional business priorities across GIS and SIS divisions.

Drive the design and delivery of innovative, clinically relevant educational programs that enhance procedural excellence and support the safe and effective use of Olympus products and services.

Provide progressive leadership to the EMEA Professional Education organization, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative, and patient‑focused culture.

Partner cross‑functionally with Medical & Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Medical Affairs, regional leadership teams, and external stakeholders to ensure educational activities align with strategic business and clinical objectives.

Build and strengthen relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, medical societies, advocacy groups, and healthcare organizations to better understand evolving educational and clinical needs.

Lead regional implementation of globally directed mid‑ and long‑term Professional Education strategies, ensuring consistency, scalability, and impact across EMEA markets.

Assess the competitive and clinical landscape to identify future opportunities for procedural training, innovation, and differentiated educational offerings.

Establish robust performance metrics and quality standards to evaluate educational effectiveness, learner engagement, and overall program impact.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement through data‑driven insights, stakeholder feedback, and evolving industry best practices.

Champion innovation in medical education, leveraging emerging technologies, modern learning methodologies, and evolving training delivery models.

Oversee regional Professional Education planning and budget management, ensuring alignment with annual strategic priorities and investment objectives.

Ensure all Professional Education activities are executed in compliance with healthcare regulations, internal policies, and applicable industry standards.

Maintain strong oversight of HCP/HCO engagement processes, including fair market value (FMV) governance and compliant utilization practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MA/MS) preferred.

Significant experience within the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry, including leadership exposure within Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Field Medical, Professional Education, or related functions.

Proven success developing and implementing regional or global professional education strategies and training initiatives.

Experience supporting healthcare engagement, medical society partnerships, and educational activities linked to product launches and clinical adoption.

Strong understanding of clinical research, scientific publications, healthcare trends, and data‑driven decision making.

Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing budgets, and influencing senior stakeholders within complex matrix organizations.

Outstanding communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills across scientific, commercial, and executive audiences.

A collaborative and globally minded leadership style, with experience working across cultures, geographies, and cross‑functional environments.
