Your tasks: The Systems Engineer will work on the system design and lifecycle management of on-board railway subsystems, including: Braking systems (pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, brake control units) Traction systems Traction drives and power electronics On-board control and auxiliary systems strictly related to train operation Pantograph
Taking care of: Engineering requirements across the full lifecycle Capture Suppliers, regulatory, and operational requirements Write system and subsystem requirements specifications Define the system architecture Maintain bidirectional traceability (system ↔ subsystem ↔ supplier) Ensure the compliance with EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129 (and following); TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) where applicable Supplier technical management (Tier-1 / OEM Interface) Contribution to verification and validation strategies aligned with railway certification processes Contribution to Reliability Availability Maintenance & Safety
Acting as technical interface between OEM and suppliers or between system and sub-suppliers by performing: Supplier requirement allocation Drive the design review process Steer technical follow-up and deviation management Verify supplier compliance to system requirements and railway standards System integration activities at vehicle level
Your profile: Candidates must
meet all the following : Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Systems Engineer in the railway sector as railway OEM or TIER1 Direct experience on on-board systems for locomotives and/or high-speed trains Hands-on experience covering the entire system engineering lifecycle, including: Requirements management and authoring Proven application of: EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129 and railway system development processes Fluent in English.
The following requirements will be considered
as a plus : Experience on
high-speed rail platforms Familiarity with
certification and approval processes
for on-board railway systems Experience in
multi-supplier, safety-critical railway programs Fluent in German
