OverviewAs part of our global development team, you will drive the development of the next generation of E-Bike embedded hardware/software systems. Building on SRAM's electronics innovation in cycling over more than 15 years, you will take e-bike systems from concept and prototyping through to mass production. This role will allow a passionate engineer to have meaningful impact on SRAM's new product development through creative design, cross-functional collaboration, hands-on bench experimentation & validation, and challenging problem solving.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build, and release BMS hardware schematics and PCB layout within Altium Designer.Validate hardware designs on the bench using Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Current Meters. Perform basic rework of SMD components and PCBAs to create working prototypes and rapidly experiment.Work alongside test engineers to develop design verification and production test systems.Understand and work to elaborate key requirements (environmental, performance, safety, regulatory, EMC). Implement and test BMS designs to meet or exceed these needs.Optimize hardware design based on simulation and test results. Provide supporting design documentation, including design specifications, design options, tradeoffs and choice rationale, experimental results, and tuning procedures.Contribute to the creation, use and adherence to evolving standards for the design rigor and verification.Ensure a constant collaboration between stakeholders to facilitate integration of features and services.Responsible for the estimation and tracking of progress for tasks through all stages of working packages to meet desired performance, cost, and time-to-market.QualificationsB.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or similar5+ years professional hardware development (component selection, schematic design, and layout) for serial productionBasic C-Programming skillsExperience with i²C, SPI, UART design and debugging of hardware and firmwareExperience in the field of battery management systems, buck-boost converters, and functional safety for embedded systems recommendedExcellent verbal and written English communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and team skills requiredMaker Mindset.
