The Faculty of Physics at the University of Bielefeld is inviting applications for a position in lattice QCD at non-zero temperature and density, starting as soon as possible. The duration is limited to three years. The successful candidate will work in the research group of Dr. Bastian Brandt and contribute to the Collaborative Research Center CRC TRR 211 "Strongly Interacting Matter under Extreme Conditions" funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Your Tasks
1. development and implementation of new lattice techniques and running numerical simulations (approx. 45 %)
2. evaluation and interpretation of data including analytical calculations (approx. 35 %)
3. involvement in writing publications and presentation of scientific results at conferences (approx. 12 %)
4. teaching of tutorials/courses and supervision of Bachelor and Master students (1 LVS / approx. 8 %)

Your Profile We expect
17. scientific degree (master or equivalent) in physics
18. submitted PhD-thesis in the field of theoretical physics
19. deep knowledge of quantum field theory and lattice gauge theory
20. experience with numerical simulations in lattice QCD
21. ability to work well in a team / cooperative and team-oriented way of working
22. good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
Preferred experience and skills
23. very good presentation and moderation skills
24. experience with simulations and computations at non-zero temperature and density
25. experience in C programming
