As a Product Designer for the Seller Experience space, you’ll be a part of eBay’s core design team. This role will envision and craft outstanding user experiences for the world’s largest online marketplace with over 135 million shoppers and 25+ million sellers. Using design creativity and user-centered design principles, you will work with cross-functional teams that are reinventing the social, mobile, local commerce landscape on a grand scale to and address exciting new business opportunities. Your responsibility in this role is to craft elegant and simple interfaces that solve complex interaction problems. Strong interaction design skills underpinned by strong visual design and content design skills are required for this role. An understanding of how to operate as a designer in a highly cross-functional environment is critical for this role.

About the team and the role:
As a Senior Product Designer on the Local Design team within Seller Experience, you’ll help evolve a critical part of how buyers and sellers connect on eBay—enabling local, in-person commerce that strengthens trust and community. Local buying and selling is a meaningful extension of the eBay marketplace, and this team plays a key role in shaping how buyers discover nearby inventory and how sellers connect with buyers to complete transactions in person.
You’ll join a highly collaborative, cross-functional team focused on improving core parts of the local experience across platforms. The team is driving an ambitious, multi-year roadmap and is deeply invested in research-led design. In this role, you’ll contribute to ongoing discovery and experimentation efforts while taking ownership of key areas of the experience, helping translate insights into thoughtful, scalable solutions.

What you will accomplish:
1. Create outstanding, user-centered designs incorporating business requirements, product findings, and customer feedback
2. Design end-to-end experiences for how key information such as pricing appears across the buyer and seller experience
3. Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
4. Collaborate with partner teams to co-create scalable experiences that balance user needs with business objectives
5. Understand both seller and buyer experiences to create holistic end-to-end solutions
6. Leverage eBay’s existing design system into your solutions while also being able to thoughtfully contribute new additions to it
7. Communicate design work and drive future direction with peers, researchers, design leaders, product partners and executives through strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills
8. Regularly present to leadership and key XFN stakeholders to collect feedback and iterate to strengthen the work
What you will bring:
9. 6-8 years of experience in Product Design
10. Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design/HCI or equivalent experience
11. Deep understanding of the user-centered design process
12. Strong storytelling skills to craft compelling narratives that are tailored to different audiences
13. Experience partnering with Content Design to effectively leverage copy to help craft a compelling experience for users
14. Experience in Design Research, including competitive analysis, qualitative interviews, leveraging quantitative metrics to drive decisions, and crafting insights from observation
15. Deep understanding of working with design systems as well as experience on how to thoughtfully improve upon them
16. Specialist in prototyping and designing in Figma for multiple devices including mobile, tablet, and desktop
17. Experience working with buyer/seller marketplaces
18. Leadership – self-starter with proactive stance toward achieving success on projects
19. Strong interaction design skills and visual design skills, as well as a strong grasp of English language in order to create and share simple user flows
20. Strong social skills – build effective working relationships with other design teams and within other domains such as Product, Engineering, Marketing
21. Facilitation - Plan, coordinate and lead workshops and design sprints with cross functional partners and teams to gain alignment on new initiatives and product strategy
22. A portfolio that showcases relevant design projects and includes your process, design explorations and final work.
