📦 Maintenance Manager – Parcel & Post Facility

🔧 Role Summary:
As a Maintenance Manager in a high-volume parcel and post facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of maintenance processes and leading a team of maintenance supervisors. You will ensure the operational reliability of material handling equipment (MHE), automated sorting systems, and facility infrastructure. The role includes strategic planning, budget control, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration—including close engagement with the Works Council.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, ensuring adherence to maintenance processes and operational performance standards.
* Define, implement, and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance processes for MHE, sortation systems, and facility infrastructure (HVAC, lighting, safety systems).
* Drive process efficiency and continuous improvement through KPI tracking (MTTR, MTBF, system uptime).
* Coordinate closely with operations to minimize downtime and disruption during maintenance activities.
* Ensure compliance with relevant safety and maintenance standards (e.g., DGUV, DIN, ISO).
* Manage vendor contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and external maintenance partners.
* Oversee maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and long-term asset planning.
* Serve as the key point of contact for the Works Council (Betriebsrat) regarding maintenance-related matters—such as changes to shift models, workplace safety measures, and technical upgrades—in full compliance with German labor law (BetrVG).
🎓 Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
* Minimum 5 years' experience managing facility or equipment maintenance operations, preferably in logistics, distribution, or parcel processing environments.
* Proven leadership of supervisory-level staff, with a focus on process management and performance optimization.
* Strong working knowledge of automated handling systems (e.g., Vanderlande, Siemens Logistics, Dematic).
* Proficient in maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo).
* Fluent in German and proficient in English.
* Must have direct experience working with a Works Council (Betriebsrat) in a co-determined or unionized environment, with full understanding of German labor regulations
