STUDENT INTERNSHIP: MODELING CONDENSATE FORMATION ON ANTI-FOG COATED SURFACES WITH CAE

Location Lippstadt, Germany

YOUR TASKS

Areyou passionate about automotive innovation and simulation technologies? Join our R&D team to explore the physics and behavior of fogging and defogging in vehicle headlamps. This thesis will involve advanced modeling, simulation techniques, and validation strategies to improve visibility and safety in real-world conditions. Your tasks include:

1. Method Development: You will develop and validate methodologies for condensation, evaporation, and droplet formation
2. Simulation & Analysis: You will simulate and analyze water vapor condensation on anti-fog surfaces.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration: You will work closely with experts from the thermal management and coating departments.
4. Thesis Opportunity: Ideally, you will combine this internship with a subsequent Master's thesis to explore the topic in greater depth.

START: after arrangement
DURATION: at least 12 weeks

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

5. Enrollment Status: You are enrolled at a university during your time at HELLA and have not yet completed your final examination.
6. Field of Study: You are a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with a strong interest in CFD, thermodynamics, or automotive systems.
7. Technical Skills: You have programming skills and preferably initial hands-on experience with CFD tools such as Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
8. Personal Strengths: You are enthusiastic, work independently, and enjoy being part of a team.
