SUMMARY
French Consulting (FC) is a trusted, family-owned small business providing management consulting and support services to U.S. Department of Defense organizations across Europe. FC is searching for a dynamic addition to our team to lead our HR Department. You are personable who thrives working on a small team and is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment. You are a working supervisor, supporting HR in all areas of the business to ensure all administration tasks are completed in a compliant manner. Confidentiality is key in this role, as is quickly adapting to shifting priorities and projects. This job description is not exhaustive. Changes to the outline of the role is expected given the company’s current growth trajectory.
QUALIFICATIONS
5. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources is required; five (5) years is preferred
6. Fluent in English, German skills preferred but not required
7. Experience using a payroll platform e.g. Quickbooks, iSolved/Dominion, DATEV
8. Knowledgeable of US labor laws
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
10. Experience working with the US military community and/or DoD government contracting is highly desirable but not required
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
11. Develops, implements, and evaluates HR policies, procedures, and practices
12. Creates and maintains comprehensive Employee Handbook
13. Assists in developing performance appraisals
14. Maintains employee records, schedules, and timesheets
15. Compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
16. Processes payroll for all countries within which French Consulting operates
17. Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems
18. Joins Program Managers/Operation Managers during counseling sessions and maintains protocol for records
19. Reviews and finalizes all documentation provided by HR Administrative Assistants prior to distribution
20. Advises leadership of organizational policy matters, as well as state and federal regulations, and recommend changes to ensure legal compliance and effective human resource practices
21. Owns the on-boarding/orientation and off-boarding/exit interviewing programs
22. Ensures adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertakes disciplinary actions if the need arises
23. Participates in HR projects e.g. holiday parties, family days
24. Prepares and improves HR systems for continuous organizational growth
25. Organizes workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
26. Promotes a positive company culture
27. Performs other related duties as assigned
