Our laboratory at the Lübeck site plays a leading role in the recruitment, sample processing, measurement, and phenotyping of the long-term cohort ALLIANCE (All Age Asthma Cohort) – German Center for Lung Research (dzl.de) – as well as other pediatric clinical cohorts.
As part of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL), funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Section for Pediatric Pneumonology & Allergology at UKSH Campus Lübeck - Section for Pediatric Pneumonology & Allergology at UKSH Campus Lübeck (uksh.de) – recruits both children and adolescents with asthma and healthy control participants. Our goal is to develop precision medicine for the heterogenous syndrome of asthma through high resolution clinical and molecular characterization. Kyey focus areas include infection, epigenetics and early mechanisms of lung function decline.

Job description
* Interfacing and coordinating between clinical departments and research efforts in cohort studies, including supporting study and sample logistics
* Assisting with the organization and administration of daily lab operations
* Using advanced genetic engineering to explore epigenetic memory, and designing, conducting, and analyzing multi-dimensional experimental models for next-generation sequencing (NGS).
* Analysis of existing research data and contribution to the preparation of scientific publications.
* Disseminate your research at national and international conferences
Your qualifications
* Ph.D. degree in Biology/System biology/Computational Biology or related field and experience in cohort studies
* Strong laboratory and analytical expertise related viruses and strong laboratory and analytical expertise in next-generation sequencing techniques (e.g. single-cell sequencing) & OMICS analysis
* Project leader in genetic engineering (e.g. CRISPR)
* Experience with programming skills (R, and/or Python)
* Proven ability to implement new methods/technologies in a dynamic environment and Strong interest in academic publishing
* Excellent communication skills (including both written and spoken ENGLISH and GERMAN )
