Sales Representative ( Ref: LS46635)
A global Japanese trading house is currently recruiting a Sales Representative to work in their steel department in Dusseldorf.
In this role, you will be responsible for sales promotion, handling existing customers, searching new business opportunities, customer and suppliers.
The job position requires the ability to watch market trends and to make conclusions for direction of product and project development as well as to find potential investment opportunities.
Sales activities include not only physical products but also financial services such as trade financing and aluminium price hedging (via derivative transactions).
A key responsibility of this role is analysing customer creditworthiness and managing transaction risks.
TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours a week, core hours 11am-3pm / 2 days WFH
SALARY: up to €68K depending on experience, plus good benefits
START: August 2025
LOCATION: Dusseldorf, Germany
Sales representative Main Responsibilities:
* Communication with customers and suppliers
* Cost calculation and preparation of offers
* Aluminium price hedging and currencies
* Preparation and negotiation of frame agreements and NDA's
* Control and application for credit lines for customers
* Credit and transaction risk management
* Technical discussion with customers and suppliers for product qualifications and claims
* Business trips and regular visits to customers and suppliers, attending the exhibitions
* Finding potential investment opportunities
Sales representative Ideal Candidate:
* At least 5 years of sales experience in the industry and or/foreign trade
* Academic/university degree of a bachelor or possibly master with major on marketing and/or finance is preferred
* Good knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques
* High communication skills
* Fluent English and German language skills
* Japanese language skills would be advantageous
* Good skills in MS Office, Power Point and SAP
* The knowledge about metallurgy and battery industry would be advantageous
* Experience in multicultural business and working environment affinity to technical issues and interest in production technologies
* Well organized and taking self-driven initiative
* Independent problem solving and proposing solutions
* Capable to work under time pressure on several projects simultaneously
* Good team player
