Job Summary
The Head of Accounting is responsible for managing all accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury coordination, and statutory compliance activities for the Straumann Turkey organization. The role ensures compliance with Turkish GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and corporate policies while leading the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Turkey accounting function within the SSC structure in close partnership with the local CFO.
* Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings.
* Oversee statutory accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting in accordance with Turkish GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations.
* Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
* Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across accounting and reporting processes.
* Support SAP S/4HANA migration initiatives and finance process optimization projects.
* Coordinate intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and compliance activities.
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, corporate policies, and governance standards.
* Collaborate closely with FP&A, Controlling, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, and regional finance teams.
* Lead, coach, and develop the local accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Serve as the primary escalation point for accounting, reporting, and compliance matters in Turkey.
* Contribute to regional and global finance transformation initiatives.
* Travel regularly to Turkey to support business operations and the S/4HANA transition.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
* Strong knowledge of Turkish accounting standards, tax legislation, and IFRS.
* Experience within a multinational organization and/or Shared Service Center environment.
* Proven leadership experience with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
* Hands‑on experience with SAP and/or SAP S/4HANA.
* Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
* Fluency in both English and Turkish.
