We are looking for a Global Head of Network Management and Multinational Governance, to be based in Munich, London or Paris.
For candidates not based in Munich, you would be expected to travel there regularly for key strategic meetings.
Your Team
Our Multinational team is at the forefront of Allianz’s offering of international insurance solutions. You become a key member of our Multinational leadership team, helping to shape our network partnerships across the whole of Allianz Commercial business, to determine global governance topics, boost our Academy offering and drive key strategic projects.
The Impact You Wi Have
Reporting to the Global Head of Multinational, you will be responsible for leading a global team of around 10 people, to maintain a best-in-class network and develop the global network strategy and framework for Allianz Commercial Multinational business.
Additionally, you will provide cross-functional leadership, working with Underwriting, Credit Risk, and Counterparty risk to ensure adequate processes for Multinational business. You will also support the development of the Multinational Academy alongside other functional heads and develop network management as a strategic Group function, enabling other entities to leverage capabilities in the future (eg. Allianz Trade, Allianz Partners, Allianz Global Benefits).
Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
Global Network Management
* Managing effective partnerships with all Allianz and non-Allianz network partners, ensuring superior client delivery, and developing a robust Multinational governance function covering all types of multinational business, including risk transfer and captive business
* Developing a global network strategy and framework, engaging with strategic partners, and ensuring proactive handling of multinational and network-related topics with global functions. Positioning the team as the central point of contact for assigned network partners within the Multinational community.
Global Network Quality assurance and optimization
* Establishing and enhancing partner reviews for compliance, sanctions, financial, and reputational checks. Aligning with global functions, ensuring market-leading quality, and integrating checks into our value proposition. Managing quality assurance and providing regional support through effective global pooling and processing. Collaborating with Global functions to optimize and update regional Reinsurance structures.
Global Network Performance and Overrider Management
* Establishing a framework for monitoring and improving Network performance, driving global productivity, implementing a diversified network partner strategy, ensuring effective overrider management and compliance, and continuously reviewing fee structure for improvement.
Multinational Governance
* Responsible for developing a robust Multinational governance function with clear Operating Guidelines covering all types of multinational business, including risk transfer and captive business. This includes relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), updates on market and regulatory developments, and coordination on the cession model between Servicing Operating Entities (SOEs) and Lead Operating Entities (LOEs).
Technical Market Expertise
* Establishing a framework to provide structured country-specific knowledge, especially to enable Multinational teams to be effective in Program Design and tender support alongside Distribution and Underwriting, ensuring efficient and timely communication of relevant country developments affecting global insurance programs including new international regulations to Multinational community. Establishing the network management team as central contact point for country-specific knowledge.
* Driving thought leadership on developing market topics and emerging risks.
People Management
* Managing the team and leading by example, embedding our company’s cultural values. Fostering personal development for team members.
Market & Industry Expertise
* Developing Allianz Multinational's external profile as an expert in Multinational business through thought leadership and by fostering broker and customer relationships to strengthen the brand.
Multinational Training:
* In coordination with the direct report responsible, support a range of Multinational Academy training initiatives while liaising with other Allianz Academies
What You’ll Bring to the Role
We are looking for someone with an extensive background in Multinational insurance programs, who is at ease in the complex interlocking networks within a large corporation and its partners. Ideally based in Munich, you will bring:
* Minimum 15+ years of international Multinational Insurance business experience
* Experience of underwriting large corporates and technical risk knowledge, to drive regional best practice regarding complex Underwriting issues
* Experience managing Captive insurance and reinsurance would be a strong plus
* Detailed knowledge of Multinational Insurance legal and regulatory frameworks and constraints
* Expertise analyzing market performance and understanding customer needs
* Proficiency in client service, policy management, and international market partnerships
* Significant leadership experience in complex global environments, performance measurement
* Strong “can-do” attitude, able to influence others, adapt to change and enable others to do the same
* An ability to formulate strategy and drive major global projects
