Digital Lab Transformation Specialist
As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of our research and development laboratories. Your focus will be on implementing IT infrastructure, data integration, and lab automation systems that form the foundation for high-quality simulation models and digital product twins.
The successful candidate will support strategic R&D initiatives, including lab automation projects and the establishment of a solvent-free polymerization lab.
* Design and implement IT infrastructure to integrate laboratory instruments and automation lines into the corporate IT network.
* Serve as a central interface between laboratories, Digital IT, and external vendors to define requirements and manage implementation within agreed timelines and scope.
* Deliver digitally captured analytics and testing data in line with FAIR data principles as a foundation for simulation models and digital product twins.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support strategic R&D initiatives, including lab automation projects and the establishment of a solvent-free polymerization lab.
* Design and implement IT infrastructure to integrate laboratory instruments and automation lines into the corporate IT network.
* Manage cross-functional teams to develop and deploy innovative solutions.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in science, technical, or engineering discipline with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience focused on digitalization of production processes and systems.
* Strong knowledge and experience in programming and production systems, particularly Siemens control systems (TIA Portal, Step 7, etc.).
* Proven ability to connect and provide process data, and to integrate interfaces with higher-level systems.
* Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality, and data visualization tools.
* Basic knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), as well as analytics tools, LLM, and Gen AI.
* Fluent English skills and proficient German skills (both verbal and written).
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, assess, and resolve complex challenges.
* Skilled in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks, managing resources and timelines effectively.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
