About the Team
The Risk division plays a critical role in identifying and managing a wide range of risks to which Deutsche Bank is exposed as part of its global operations – from credit and market risks to non-financial risks. As an integral part of this division, Model Risk Management (MoRM) is responsible for the management of model risk, including the independent validation of models as well as the identification and the monitoring & controlling of model risk.
Our aim is to identify, aggregate, manage and mitigate risk across the core activities of market risk, credit risk, operational risk management and business models.
MoRM is located in Frankfurt, London, New York, Mumbai, and Berlin.
Our team is responsible for validating business and infrastructure models incl. Anti-Financial-Crime, Finance and Private Bank models.
Main tasks
1. Self-contained validation of business and infrastructure models with main focus on AFC models and discussion of validation results with involved stakeholders
2. Analyze the underlying mathematical methods, verify adequacy of models and their implementation
3. Serve as contact person regarding all methodology aspects of covered models
4. Preparation of impact studies and presentations in relevant governance committees
5. Review and assessment of analyses and changes done by developers to close existing validation issues
6. Assess and actively manage the model risk of the relevant models by e.g. ensuring adherence to model documentation standards
Skills & Experiences
7. Graduate degree in mathematics or mathematical finance, statistics, physics, econometrics, or a comparable education
8. Solid background in banking and financial mathematics
9. Ability to explain mathematical concepts and results in layman's terms
10. Advanced IT skills, i.e. experience with relevant software packages (ideally R, Python, machine learning and a good knowledge of MS office products)
11. Proficiency and experience in data analysis and evaluation and understanding of IT processes
12. Self-motivated and strong analytical skills & proven ability to structure and solve problems independently
13. Team player
14. Excellent written and verbal skills in English, German would be beneficial
