Responsibilities
* Develop and implement holistic risk strategy and frameworks in line with the Group’s risk appetite and ambitions. Stay abreast of market trends, group requirements, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure the frameworks remain appropriate.
* Provide strong leadership to the Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Quantitative Risk teams. Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing across the organization.
* Actively promote the Data Driven Business at EEM and establish a cross-CFRO Data Team (to be confirmed).
* Coordinate materials for Market Committees, communicate risk profiles, and recommend actions to facilitate informed decision-making. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address risk-related inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
* Oversee the development and enhancement of risk assessment methodologies, pricing models, and metrics.
* Lead the implementation of consistent risk frameworks and modeling across regions through strong functional steering.
* Monitor risk limits and triggers, taking appropriate actions to manage potential exposures.
* Collaborate with trading, IT, and business operations teams to build effective risk reporting and controls.
Requirements
* Extensive experience in risk management within the energy or commodity industry. Ability to establish risk appetite and implement effective risk management frameworks.
* Deep understanding of trading and portfolio management, with a focus on active, value-creating risk management.
* Proven track record of leading and managing risk management teams, inspiring and motivating team members.
* Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex risk concepts to diverse stakeholders.
* Structured approach to identifying organizational functions and departments where digital tools and talent can have the most impact.
