The PMC Project Director is responsible for leading all aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality standards. This senior role involves strategic planning, team leadership, risk management, and stakeholder communication. The initial project involves leading one of Europe’s largest greenfield Data Centres for a major client.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion a high-performance safety culture for the project.
* Lead successful end-to-end delivery of large greenfield campus projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
* Coordinate development projects from due diligence and master planning to implementation, handover, and certification.
* Create project delivery plans aligned with customer requirements, including communication strategies.
* Ensure customer satisfaction at all project stages and address issues proactively.
* Improve project management capabilities through standardization and automation in data centre projects.
* Coach, mentor, and train team members on continuous improvement and reporting procedures.
* Manage project risks, review regularly, and implement mitigation measures.
* Assist in preparing documentation for quotations and service descriptions.
* Develop and govern reporting on project status, safety, budget, and risks.
* Ensure adherence to company standards across all projects.
* Support in preparing proposals and presentations for new clients.
* Participate in recruitment to meet project needs and regional expansion.
* Serve as the primary contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
* Maintain strong relationships and provide regular project updates.
* Ensure construction quality and conduct site inspections and audits.
* Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery.
* Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for management.
* Keep accurate records of project activities and changes.
We Would Love To Hear From You If You
* Have at least 3 years of experience in data centre construction/project management with leadership responsibilities.
* Hold a degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
* Are PMP and LEED AP qualified or working towards certification.
* Are passionate about building global teams and mentoring employees.
* Excel at building strong relationships with teams and clients.
* Have experience as Construction Director within a PMC and Construction Management environment.
* Are fluent in English; German language skills are desirable.
* Are willing to work on-site in Frankfurt or Berlin.
