Position Summary
Samsung Networks is an industry leader in Open RAN with commercial deployments in Asia, US, Canada, and the EU markets.
As part of our continued expansion across Europe, Samsung Networks Europe is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Head of Project Management Office and Delivery to oversee the delivery and maintenance of 2G/4G and 5G Open Radio Access Network with customers. You will manage the full delivery of projects by building a best-in-class organization that excels in delivering complex projects and meeting all network KPI and Support SLA commitments.
You will lead the deployment of multiple multi-year, highly complex projects. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative solutions, demonstrating leadership, technical knowledge, and attention to detail.
This position requires a strong background in wireless networks and/or Operator IT environments to support Samsung Networks’ expansion in the European Market.
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a proven track record in delivering complex mobile network projects and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
This role is based in Reading, UK, with travel to other project locations, including potentially other European cities, Samsung HQ in Korea, and other locations based on business needs.
The onboarding timeline is expected to be H2 2025.
Role And Responsibilities
Working closely with the Account and Product/Solution teams, responsibilities include:
1. Functional management of a team comprising PMO, Delivery, and Operations professionals.
2. Successfully executing Open RAN deployments across multiple sites and customers.
3. Supporting recruitment, strategic development, training, and process development.
4. Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing top talent in PMO, Delivery, and Operations.
5. Managing program management standards and tools.
6. Collaborating with Sales, R&D, DevOps, and Procurement teams.
7. Planning, budgeting, and staffing in coordination with other network leaders.
8. Establishing governance, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making processes.
9. Delivering results within cost and schedule targets.
10. Developing program plans, managing changes, dependencies, risks, and issues.
11. Implementing gated program processes and supporting product development reviews.
12. Ensuring end-to-end program delivery quality and milestones achievement.
13. Building and maintaining customer relationships, including at CxO level.
14. Defining program deliverables and timelines with the customer.
15. Owning deployment masterplan and communication of milestones.
16. Managing all phases of the program, including design, integration, and testing.
17. Developing and managing delivery processes and procedures.
18. Providing regular reports on progress, risks, issues, and milestones.
19. Managing program governance, reviews, and stakeholder communication.
20. Overseeing program KPIs, risk management, and interface points.
21. Managing resource plans and ensuring organizational readiness.
22. Coordinating with Samsung R&D for planning and risk management.
23. Engaging with customers to ensure satisfaction and high engagement levels.
24. Reporting activities, milestones, risks, issues, and successes.
25. Managing relationships with offshore services providers in India.
26. Leading a motivated team of technical and managerial staff.
27. Overseeing full program delivery and quality.
28. Identifying service up-sell opportunities and supporting pre-sales activities.
What We Need For This Role
Key skills and attributes include:
1. Experience in a senior program role in telecom/IT sector.
2. Proven track record in delivering large-scale, complex programs, preferably in Radio Access Networks.
3. Experience managing multi-functional teams in complex projects.
4. Strong customer and stakeholder management skills.
5. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role, with an understanding of supplier-customer relationships.
6. Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging CxO level stakeholders.
7. Strong organizational, presentation, planning, and reporting skills.
8. Ability to develop detailed program plans and updates within tight deadlines.
9. Leadership qualities that foster a positive team environment.
10. Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
11. Effective at navigating large organizations and influencing stakeholders.
