About the Role
We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer (m/f/d) to join our automotive engineering team, working on the development, testing, and optimization of mechatronic systems used in passenger vehicles. The role focuses on vehicle subsystems, electronic controls, and integration of mechanical and electrical components in accordance with German and international automotive standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and integrate mechatronic systems for automotive applications (e.g., chassis, powertrain, body electronics, ADAS support systems)
• Support vehicle-level testing, validation, and commissioning
• Work with ECUs, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems
• Assist in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of vehicle systems
• Support CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet communication systems
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams across the vehicle development lifecycle
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and test reports
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE, UNECE, CE)
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2 years of experience in automotive or vehicle engineering environment
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, electronics, and control systems
• Experience with vehicle diagnostics tools (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, OBD tools)
• Basic understanding of embedded systems and ECU architecture
• Familiarity with automotive sensors and actuators (ABS, ESP, steering, braking, powertrain components)
Tools & Technologies
• Communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet
• Software & tools: MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe/CANalyzer, dSPACE (basic)
• CAD tools: CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar
• Diagnostics & testing: OBD-II, UDS, HIL/SIL (basic exposure)
Language & Soft Skills
• German: B1–B2 or higher
• English: Professional working proficiency
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented with good communication abilities
• Structured and quality-focused approach
Nice to Have
• Exposure to ADAS, e-mobility, or autonomous vehicle systems
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262)
• Experience with HIL testing or validation environments
