will be a Position Manager on the Contractual Assets desk with
direct PnL responsibility. The role sits between trading and
origination, ensuring that our contracted assets are hedged
effectively, PnL is optimised and risks are effectively managed.
You will manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of assets under contract,
from evaluation and pricing, setting trading strategies through to
execution and performance monitoring. This is a hands‑on trading
role requiring detailed market insight, strong quantitative skills,
and the ability to translate complex risk into clear commercial
decisions.The desk has a mandate to trade positions to optimise and
protect value from assets we have under contract and future assets
we will contract with an ambitious growth aspiration including but
not limited to PPAs, Flex Tolls such as Virtual Batteries and
Virtual Pump Storages, Virtual Gas Storages, and other asset linked
bespoke special transactions. Position Managers need to generate
PnL through identifying and implementing trading strategies across
assets they are responsible for and contribute through active risk
management and optimisation.Responsibilities:Contribute to desk PnL
through identifying, implementing and executing profitable trading
strategies in the Contractual Assets space.Work with the
Origination team on Business Development; to identify the types of
assets, contract structures and pricing strategies that will
provide a balanced and optimal portfolio of contractual assets to
drive PnL.Develop and maintain robust tools for deal evaluation
(PPAs, Virtual Storage and other structured products), perform
back-testing, scenario analysis and sensitivity studies for
strategies and market developmentsWork with other traders, analysts
and originators to generate new ideas and strategies.Develop and
maintain a strong market view on European energy markets (power,
gas, emissions).Be position and PnL owner throughout the entire
product life cycle of an asset and design hedging strategies for
complex deals while balancing risk reduction with value
optimizationPitch strategies to senior trading management for risk
capital allocation..Drive best possible practice by shaping the
structuring, risk evaluation and pricing of contractual assets
identified by the Origination team, working and aligning with
Quants in adjacent teams to pool and maximise expertise across the
Group.Work with Risk Management to ensure maximum transparency on
inherent risk and PnL performance, ensure compliance with risk
limits and internal governance framework.Qualifications:Proven
experience (3+ years) in energy trading, asset optimization, or
structured energy products, preferably in a front-office or closely
aligned role with proven strong PnL track recordDetailed
understanding of European energy markets and interaction of
commodities / markets.Strong understanding of structured products,
pricing models and risk managementDemonstrated ability in position
management and portfolio optimizationTechnical skills such as
Python or other and database skills is a plus.Quantitative
background with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Demonstrates soft skills to be able to guide colleagues and take a
leading role in the team. Able to manage yourself and your time to
be able to work under pressure and be a highly reliable
