Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies and services. They identify markets and determine the feasibility of business and product development. Our Teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for implementing a global system that ensure a healthy innovation pipeline for future Data Connectivity products. This shall be achieved through strong interaction with technology market leaders. This position reports to the Senior Manager Product Management Data Connectivity with responsibility for Business Development & Product Cost Management.
Main tasks:
1. Evaluate upcoming architectures & application to provide strategic input to Product Management for future Data Connectivity portfolio.
2. Translate future market needs and trends into requirements for next-gen Data Connectivity products Support product managers on technical questions in customer interaction.
3. Provide business insights (e.g. market estimations and application use cases) for specific innovative ideas.
4. Identification and driving of business relevant initiatives for new Automotive Data Connectivity applications.
5. Drive project activities for new opportunities, including handling of prototypes and samples, with the goal to transfer products and technologies into the Data Connectivity business pipeline.
6. Facilitate communication between TE and new technology providers (incl. semiconductor companies, start-ups, academia) on development efforts and trends for current and next-gen Data Connectivity.
What your background should look like:
7. Engineer with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, information technology or similar
8. At least 5 years of experience in in a technical function, business development or product management field
9. Knowledge of the various contact systems and preferences of the individual OEM / HM preferred
10. Very good technical and commercial understanding
11. Proactive, dynamic team player who can independently and seamlessly take on internal, external, and cross-departmental activities in the organization
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
13. Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
14. Fluent language skills (oral & written) in English and German are required
15. Willingness to travel EMEA / Global is required
