Imec is seeking an experienced Regional Managing Director to lead our operations in Baden-Württemberg.
What you will do
The automotive industry is at a pivotal stage with advanced chiplet technology enabling autonomous driving and connected vehicles. Imec, in collaboration with the State of Baden-Württemberg, is launching a joint project to support the automotive industry in de-risking and accelerating the adoption of automotive chiplets into manufacturing.
Based at the Innovation Park AI (IPAI) in Heilbronn, our new Advanced Chip Design Accelerator (ACDA) competence center aims to push technological boundaries and accelerate automotive innovations. Leveraging imec’s expertise in semiconductor technology and packaging, we will develop chiplet-based solutions for smarter, safer, and more efficient vehicles.
The Regional Managing Director will be responsible for:
* Leading the startup and growth of the Baden-Württemberg organization aligned with long-term corporate strategy and local initiatives.
* Driving innovation through research expertise and a clear technical vision.
* Achieving regional KPIs and contributing to imec’s global goals.
* Managing daily operations and project execution in coordination with stakeholders.
* Fostering a culture of creativity and innovation to address industry challenges.
* Reporting to the VP Automotive and collaborating with senior leadership to set strategic objectives and allocate resources.
The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset with a successful track record in leading multi-functional teams and managing complex programs within the semiconductor or microelectronics sectors.

Who you are
* PhD in engineering or a related field.
* Over 10 years of experience in a fabless, semiconductor manufacturing, or R&D environment.
* More than 5 years managing a mid-sized international site in the semiconductor or microelectronics industry.
* Passionate about building and leading innovative teams.
* Experience managing successful German and EU-funded research projects from proposal to completion.
* Extensive network with industry, academia, and government leaders, fluent in technical, legal, and business discussions.
* Knowledge of automotive chip design or sensing is advantageous.
* Committed to staying updated on industry and technological advancements.
* Strong judgment in problem-solving, prioritization, and flexible decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills in German and English, with a customer-focused and diplomatic approach.
