This role provides an opportunity to be a leader at the ground level of Harman’s sustainability strategy for the automotive division while creating a large path for future career opportunities in a field that is expanding at a rapid rate.
What You Will Do
1. Understand and monitor global legislation, industry and customer requirements in regards to circularity, recycled content and end-of-life strategies
2. Drive the circularity strategy for the Automotive division and coordinate execution in line with corporate and divisional goals, industry requirements and customer trends
3. Establish and maintain best in class product recycled content methodology/life-cycle-assessment capabilities and oversee integration of circularity into strategic business planning
4. Drive circularity initiatives in the functions and work collaboratively with the product development and operations teams in implementing, measuring, and tracking the implementation
5. Support customer teams to make sure that products being proposed for customer quotes are complying with sustainability and circularity guidelines
6. Add value to business development by helping to position Harman’s automotive sustainability strategy as a key differentiator in customer quotes and proposals, and ensuring alignment with customer sustainability strategy
7. Serve as advisor, business partner and link directly supporting the business unit and functional leaders on circularity initiatives, goals and methodology
8. Represent automotive sustainability with external initiatives such as industry collaboration forums and customers
What You Need
9. Bachelor’s or Masters in either Environmental, Engineering or other related fields
10. +5 years professional experience in large, multinational, complex companies in automotive/electrical manufacturing sector driving circularity metrics and programs
11. Deep expertise on circularity strategies, methods, KPIs and regulations
12. Experience translating circularity requirements into actionable recommendations for product development, manufacturing, supply chain and aftersales
13. Strong project management skills with cross-functional approach
14. Excellent communication and influencing skills with partners and peers at all levels of the organization
15. Expert problem solver with the ability to identify and triage data issues to drive tactical solutions
What is Nice to Have
16. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical development and manufacturing processes
17. A willingness to collect and analyze large amounts of data and very good knowledge of Excel Macros and Pivot tables are a plus). If not Excel, then a good knowledge of other tools to analyze large amounts of data.
18. Expert problem solver with the ability to identify and triage data to drive tactical solutions
19. Experience with developing and leading data-informed business cases
