About the Opportunity
Join our Beyond Banking Law Team as an IP & Data Privacy Lawyer with a hands-on approach. You will play a critical role in supporting global product launches and marketing campaigns by ensuring alignment with unfair competition, copyright, trademark, consumer/eCommerce, and data privacy laws. Your expertise will also be essential in advising on privacy compliance for digital marketing technologies and helping shape N26's global IP strategy and portfolio.
As part of this role, you will:
1. Advise on N26 product launches comprehensively from an unfair competition, copyright, trademark, consumer/eCommerce law, and data privacy law perspective.
2. Provide end-to-end legal support for new product developments and feature releases, including assessing naming strategies and brand protection, reviewing UX/UI elements and technical content, ensuring fair presentation and communication of product features, verifying compliance with digital consumer rights and eCommerce obligations, and conducting privacy assessments under the GDPR.
3. Advising on global N26 marketing campaigns comprehensively from an unfair competition, copyright, trademark, consumer/eCommerce law, and data privacy law perspective.
4. Support the planning and execution of multi-market marketing campaigns by reviewing campaign concepts, ad copy, creatives, and targeting strategies to ensure legal compliance across jurisdictions. This includes verifying adherence to advertising standards under unfair competition and consumer protection laws, and ensuring the lawful use of personal data in line with the GDPR.
5. Be responsible for all privacy law matters related to Digital Marketing, Advertising, and Marketing Tech.
6. Work closely with our Marketing and Product teams to conduct privacy assessments for Digital Marketing, Advertising, and Marketing Tech-related initiatives.
7. Review and negotiate data processing and joint controller agreements, set up Records of Processing Activities, conduct Privacy Impact Assessments, and assess data transfers to third countries.
8. Develop and implement N26's IP strategy, including managing and protecting N26's global IP portfolio, including trademarks and other intangible assets.
9. Develop and deliver internal training for Product & Marketing teams on IP and advertising law.
