About This Role:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Browser Extension Team team in Munich. At Atolls, your role will be instrumental in creating exceptional user experiences and empowering consumers to make informed and confident shopping decisions. Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
* Contribute to the evolution of the browser extension architecture and mentor team members in developing our white-label solution, ensuring scalability, maintainability, quality, and long-term performance.
* Design and implement features across the entire product lifecycle - from design (Figma), UI implementation (internal design system), JavaScript scripts, and web development, to AWS services (Lambda) and backend APIs (Node.js).
* Collaborate closely with the Product Manager, Designers, and Engineers within the team (from junior to senior level), as well as with other engineering teams across the company.
* Report progress, key outcomes, and team objectives to the management hierarchy and senior leadership.
Your Profile:
* 5+ years of experience in web application development or browser-based software.
* Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern web development.
* Experience with at least one web framework (React, Angular, Vue, or similar).
* Solid understanding of browser APIs, web platform behavior, and client-side performance considerations.
* Experience integrating with backend APIs (REST or GraphQL).
* Ability to design and implement scalable client-side systems that interact with multiple services and websites.
* Strong experience with automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end) and maintaining reliable CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical trade-offs.
* Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
* Ability to think in terms of platform architecture and reusable extension modules, not just feature implementation.
* Very strong oral and written communication skills in English
Bonus Skills:
* Experience developing browser extensions (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
* Knowledge of browser security models, permissions, and extension architecture (MV3).
* Experience with performance optimization for client-side applications.
* Familiarity with GraphQL and Apollo Client architectures.
* Experience working with large-scale consumer products or high-traffic web platforms.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern DevOps practices.
* Experience working on multi-brand or multi-market platforms .
