Overview
Novastone Capital Advisors (NCA) is a global firm solving succession challenges for Small to Medium‑Sized Enterprises (SMEs) through its Operator‑Led Search Fund Program. We are seeking a motivated, talented mid‑career professional to partner with NCA to search, acquire, and lead a small or medium‑sized enterprise as Chief Executive Officer.
As an NCA Searcher, you will spearhead an up to 24‑month professional search to acquire one small‑to‑midsized company in Germany. You will receive financial and business support from NCA, and an attractive incentive package including base compensation and vested shares in the acquired company.
Searcher Responsibilities
* Establish a search process with NCA to generate sufficient deal flow and identify a potential acquisition that meets predefined criteria.
* Manage the acquisition process in partnership with our experienced Investment Management team.
* Assume the CEO role of the newly acquired business.
* Proactively identify and evaluate strategic growth options and business opportunities, develop long‑term strategy and a 100‑day plan.
* Grow the business top line through impactful marketing and sales initiatives.
* Review product/service offerings, portfolio strategies, and brand positioning; identify gaps and implement improvements.
* Oversee geographical expansions when required, including market entrance strategies.
* Maintain operational efficiency and ensure profitable growth.
Must‑Have Requirements
* 10+ years of professional experience.
* Academic achievement (Executive MBA or MBA preferred).
* Minimum 5+ years in leadership roles managing multiple teams across multiple geographies and locations.
* Minimum 10+ years of a proven track record running and growing businesses or business units in Germany.
* Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility.
* Strategic vision for a sector or industry.
* Strong motivation toward entrepreneurship.
* Fluent in English and German.

* M&A experience.
* Consulting experience from a top consulting firm.
* Experience managing and operating an SME.
* Owner, Founder or co‑Founder of a Start‑up.
* Experience in global business development and international expansion.
* Recent successful business transformation experience.
* Open mindset toward learning, people, and even failure.
Selection Process
* In‑depth interviews, online assessments, a business case presentation, and a jury review of the investment thesis over several weeks.
* Webinars and materials for candidates to learn more about the program and meet the NCA team.
* Final Assessment Center with the jury selection scheduled for February 2026.
