Our client, a world‑leading medical device company specialising in cardiopulmonary and neuromodulation devices that treat neurological and cardiac conditions, is seeking an exceptional engineering executive to lead its Global Hardware Engineering function. This is a high-profile, confidential search for a visionary technical leader who will shape the future of hardware innovation across a global product portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Define and execute the hardware engineering roadmap in alignment with product and business strategy, covering both electrical and mechanical domains.
* Lead and mentor cross-disciplinary teams of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and verification specialists.
Design & Development
* Oversee design and prototyping of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, power management, connectivity solutions, as well as mechanical components including enclosures, mechanisms, thermal and fluid management.
* Ensure scalability, manufacturability, and reliability of both electrical and mechanical subsystems.
Verification & Compliance
* Lead verification and validation of electrical and mechanical subsystems, including integration, environmental, and reliability testing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of subsystems.
* Demonstrated experience working with external development partners, contract manufacturers, or design firms.
Skills & Experiences
* A Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
* 10+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles within the medical device industry.
* Proven track record in Class II/III medical device development and regulatory submissions with product launch experience.
* Strong expertise in circuit design, PCB layout, power electronics, sensors, connectivity (wired/wireless), mechanical CAD, materials selection, and thermal/mechanical design with HLM Capital equipment.
* Experience as people leader, implementing coaching and performance management programmes.
* Experience working with external development partners, contract manufacturers, or design firms.
