Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with an engineering service provider to support their search for a Mechanical & Electrical Construction Supervisor to join their clients project based in the Rhineland-Palatinate region on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate mechanical and electrical construction activities on a large-scale pharmaceutical project.
* Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, piping, utilities) and electrical systems (e.g., power distribution, lighting, control systems).
* Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for both disciplines.
* Monitor daily site progress, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality compliance.
* Coordinate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and client representatives to resolve technical and scheduling issues.
* Support procurement and inventory control of mechanical and electrical materials and equipment.
* Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
* Participate in constructability and safety reviews, morning coordination meetings, and project planning sessions.
* Assist in commissioning and handover activities, ensuring systems are operational and compliant.
Required Experience & Skills
* Sufficent years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical supervision on pharmaceutical or highly regulated construction projects.
* Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Fluent in German and English (written and verbal).
* Strong understanding of local building codes, GMP standards, and safety regulations.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, schedules, and technical specifications.
* Experience with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and software such as Plant 3D, Navisworks, Excel, and Access.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
